FAQs
SELECTING A BREEDER
BUYER BEWARE!
As Ragdolls rank first among all cat breeds worldwide, there is a heightened risk of encountering a scam. PLEASE take the time to thoroughly investigate before choosing your new fur baby. Make a point of asking questions, particularly pertaining to health. A breeder known for their credibility will avoid inbreeding and will openly share pedigrees and DNA test outcomes.
ELLEBELLRAGS
is one of the few breeders on the West Coast that exclusively breed Traditional Ragdolls. The most reputable Ragdoll breeders rigorously eliminate any deviation from the T.I.C.A. standard. Drawing upon our 30+ years of experience in the rescue and ownership of cats, our primary focus is to provide you with an unparalleled purebred Ragdoll kitten, all while upholding our commitment to supporting adoption. A portion of each litter will be contributed to a nearby feline rescue.
CAGE FREE
Our Ragdoll cats are cherished as beloved members of our family and are afforded the freedom to roam without ever being placed in cages.
DE- CLAWING
There is NEVER a reason to de-claw a cat. The emotional distress inflicted upon your cat may lead to serious behavioral problems. A non-negotiable condition for procuring a Ragdoll from us is agreeing to a no de-claw arrangement.
FEEDING
Your kitten has been raised on a diet consisting solely of TIKI cat deboned chicken and egg dry food, as well as Weruva chicken Cloud 9 wet food. TIKI cat is a cat food designed to meet the nutritional needs of both cats and kittens, containing a remarkable 43% protein. It is highly recommended that you continue providing your kitten with this food, as any alteration could potentially cause digestive discomfort.
Kittens should ALWAYS be provided with free feeding, which involves leaving dry food accessible for them to eat at their own pace. Measuring food is not a recommended practice and is only suitable for cats that are excessively obese.
To prevent the occurrence of “Scarf and barf,” cats should be allowed to free feed, as it helps them avoid feeling deprived of food due to strict monitoring.
